You can find it at any store that allows file uploading via the internet (including most major US drug-stores). The image files will be sent to the closest location near you, and within minutes you will be able to walk in and pick them up as prints.

This exhibition contains 24 small 4x6 photographic prints contained within the packaging provided by each store. Also included are a contact sheet with all the artists' information, and a letter to the store employee reassuring that there is nothing wrong with the order.

No money is being made by us in this exhibition. You will purchase the show directly from the store (unless you can acquire it another way), which will probably cost around $5. We would like to make it clear that we have no intentions in promoting sales in these places, which will mostly include major US drug-stores. We think of it more as infiltrating these spaces with our games."

Visit the ASDF Makes website, and participate.

ITEM OF THE WEEK

This week's item of the week is the deeply interesting and powerfully stylish Journal of Popular Noise. The Journal of Popular Noise is a semi-annual audio magazine inspired by the traditions of pop music, printed periodicals, and the delight of a finely crafted artifact. However I never have a chance to keep them. I often meet pretty girls that love their t-shirts. Being a gentleman I just have to give them the t-shirts exactly then and there. Giving TAGBANGER t-shirts to pretty girls has two benefits: first benefit is that I give a lasting gift that will remind them of me forever; second is that I do it in front of them and in the process I expose my wonderfully sculpted torso. I suggest TAGBANGER t-shirts to everyone." —Nikola Tosic

Just 5 days until the election! A very satisfying/romantic listen; put this record on while making dinner for your significant other as the leaves are falling outside and watch the sparks fly. Perfect fall album.

Available on LP and CD, LP's pressed on clear vinyl and limited to 500 copies.

Both availabe now @ Golden Age.

If you're in New York tonight, you probably already know what you should be doing, going to Phillips de Pury & Company for the the Benefit Preview of the 2008 Art Book Fair. Listed as taking up 100,000 square feet, it will have many satellite venues and involve some really rad contemporary artists (Mark Bradford, Clare E. Rojas, Trenton Doyle Hancock et al.). Sounds like a very positive thing for an important American city torn apart by Hurricane Katrina. Prospect 1 runs for 11 weeks and I've included an interview with the biennial's curator, the talkative Dan Cameron, below.

Blake Takes Prospect 1 from Blake Killian on Vimeo.

Golden Age was recently interviewed by Karly Wildenhaus for her new Chicago Arts blog 'On the Make'.
On the Make will be a digital repository of all things related to contemporary art and Chicago. Conrad Bakker presents a well composed, analytical survey of DIY from 1940 to the present, breaking down many of the different manifestations of DIY from Punk Rock to Martha Stewart. Of personal note was the connection between DIY and entrepreneurship, which is relevant to everyone who's in a creative capacity and/or on a hustle.

Both Prompt and Proximity available at Golden Age.

-Marco

I don't know why but this website makes me feel pretty optimistic about life in general. Jamie Livingston took a polaroid everyday for 18 years ending up with over 6,000 photos. It ended with his death in 1997.

http://photooftheday.hughcrawford.com

-Lauren

There's a show tonight called 'Winner Circle' at Scott Projects that I think you should all attend. Hunter will be showing a variety of abstract sculpture and from my speculation, it looks to be post-minimal, volumetrically pleasing assemblages of a humorous/playful nature.

The opening is Friday, Oct 10, 6 - 11pm. She has fashioned her own impeccably put together outfits for years, while sourcing even bathroom accessories as fabric. "the hat was a commode cover", she says! A man named Eric Smith made a short documentary about Irene, below is the trailer and more information can be found Here

Mimi Weddell

Today yet another stylistically seasoned pro was brought to my attention, whom is also the subject of a recent documentary named "Hats Off". Her name is Mimi Weddell and you may have seen her on the runway of Lorick's SS09 show (Abigail Lorick being the stylist of the oh so addictive Gossip Girl), or as Stanford's grandmother on Sex and the City...I find her to be the most interesting, just as herself. Thanks Brendan, Ethan and guest A-Ron, The Downtown Don for never not working! The synths have me thinking of the sci-fi cult classic, Liquid Sky but with a totally different message. Who needs drugs and aliens anyways?

I'm anxiously awaiting the "makeout record", guys!

-Alyssa
